This is a reasonable-template starting point for a small, free, no-account browser extension — not a substitute for legal review.
By installing, accessing, or using the Scrawnload browser extension ("Scrawnload," "the extension") you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree, do not install or use the extension. These Terms apply alongside Scrawnload's Privacy Policy.
Scrawnload detects video and audio on the web page you're viewing and lets you preview or download it locally, including merging HLS streams into a single file entirely within your browser. See the Privacy Policy for what data this involves.
You must have the legal capacity to agree to these Terms in your jurisdiction. If you are a minor, you may only use Scrawnload with the involvement of a parent or guardian.
Subject to these Terms, you're granted a limited, non-exclusive, revocable license to install and use the packaged extension. You may not resell it or reverse-engineer it beyond what applicable law permits.
You are solely responsible for how you use Scrawnload and for any content you access, preview, or download using it. Scrawnload does not verify whether you have the legal right to copy or store any specific content, and cannot make that determination on your behalf. You agree to use Scrawnload only to save content you own, that is in the public domain, that is licensed to permit local downloading, or that you otherwise have the legal right to save, and to comply with all applicable laws and the terms of service of any website you use it on.
Scrawnload has no control over, and does not endorse, the content of any page you use it on. Downloading media from a site may violate that site's own terms of service — this tool doesn't make that determination for you.
The Scrawnload name and branding belong to its developer. Scrawnload claims no ownership over any content you download using it.
Scrawnload is provided "as is," without warranty of any kind. The developer does not warrant that Scrawnload will detect, preview, or download any specific content, or that it will be uninterrupted or error-free. Known limitations — including DRM-protected content, live streams, very large files, and sites that block off-page requests — are documented publicly and are not defects.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developer is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of Scrawnload. Because Scrawnload is provided free of charge, the developer's total aggregate liability for any claim will not exceed USD $0.
You agree to indemnify the developer against any claim — including a third-party copyright claim — arising from your own use of Scrawnload.
Scrawnload does not host, store, or transmit any content on any server — detection, preview, and download all happen locally in your browser. Because there is no hosted content, the notice-and-takedown procedure under 17 U.S.C. § 512, which applies to services that store user-submitted material, does not apply to Scrawnload. If you are a rights holder with a good-faith concern that Scrawnload's design, distribution, or marketing facilitates infringement, email hello@samreshan.com.np with identification of the work, the basis for your concern, and your contact information. We will review good-faith reports and respond.
The developer may update Scrawnload or these Terms at any time. The "Last updated" date above reflects the most recent change.
You may stop using Scrawnload at any time by uninstalling it. The developer may discontinue or delist Scrawnload at any time.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and the developer. Failure to enforce any part of these Terms is not a waiver. You may not assign your rights under these Terms.
General questions can be filed as an issue on the project's source repository. For copyright-specific concerns, see Section 12.
